DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Built to handle heavy commercial loads, the 6.7L Cummins diesel is heavily constrained by factory EGR and throttle valve assemblies that continually feed hot, soot-laden exhaust gas back into the air intake. Over time, this carbon-rich residue mixes with oil mist to form a thick, restrictive sludge that starves the cylinders of oxygen and drives Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs) into dangerous territory under heavy towing conditions.
  • Compounding these thermal risks, the fragile internal core of the OEM EGR cooler is highly susceptible to heat-stress cracking—allowing engine coolant to leak into the intake tract and threatening catastrophic hydro-lock. Removing these restrictive components permanently eliminates soot contamination, prevents internal coolant leaks, and restores unrestricted fresh airflow to protect your engine under max-load operation.

Key Features

  • Eliminate the risk of catastrophic engine failure by removing the crack-prone factory EGR cooler that can leak coolant directly into the cylinders
  • Drop towing exhaust gas temperatures by up to 200°F by stopping hot exhaust gas recirculation into the intake stream
  • Prevent carbon sludge accumulation inside the intake manifold by sealing off the soot-recirculation pathway at the source
  • Pre-tapped exhaust manifold block-off plate accepts your EGT probe directly — no drilling or tapping required during installation
  • Restore unrestricted airflow with a heavy-duty steel throttle valve delete tube that replaces the restrictive factory throttle body

FAQ

Q: Will removing the throttle valve change how my engine shuts down? A: You may notice a slight shudder at key-off. The factory throttle valve slams shut to instantly choke the engine; without it, the engine stops by cutting fuel, which is a completely normal and safe behavior.

Q: Do I need to drill my exhaust manifold to install the EGT sensor probe? A: No. The exhaust manifold block-off plate included in this kit comes pre-drilled and pre-tapped, so you can thread your EGT sensor directly into the plate without any machine work.

Q: Where do the two stainless steel block-off plates install? A: Both mount on the passenger side exhaust manifold. The larger plate seals the main EGR cooler inlet port, and the smaller pre-tapped plate seals the rear exhaust bypass port while providing a mounting spot for your EGT probe.

Q: How does this kit differ from the 2010-2024 version? A: The core dimensions are the same, but the 2010-2024 kit includes optimized hose routing, universal mounting brackets, and additional adapters to support 2010-2012 model years while remaining backwards-compatible with 2013-2024 trucks.

Q: Do I need an EGT relocation kit with this delete setup? A: Often yes — once the factory DPF and EGR components are removed, the original EGT sensor position is eliminated. Pair this kit with Seguler’s EGT relocation kit to move your OEM temperature probe to the pre-tapped block-off plate and keep accurate EGT data flowing to your tuner.
