DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Stock 6.7L Cummins intake horns are heavily restricted by tight bends, narrow passages, and emissions-clearance notches. This design causes severe air turbulence and pressure drop, leading to uneven air distribution across cylinder ports and increasing turbocharger strain under heavy load.
  • This 3.5" High-Flow Intake Elbow replaces factory restrictions with a smooth, large-radius air path. By expanding internal volume and smoothing transitions from intercooler to intake plenum, it reduces pumping losses and ensures balanced airflow across all six cylinders.

Key Features

  • Replace the restrictive OEM intake horn with an unobstructed 3.5" inlet feeding dual 3" mandrel-bent tubes for dramatically reduced airflow resistance
  • Lower EGTs by 50-200°F and improve fuel economy by 0.5-1 MPG through more efficient combustion and cylinder filling
  • Accelerate turbo spool and eliminate throttle lag by reducing intake-side restriction between the intercooler and manifold
  • Monitor boost and temperature via two integrated NPT sensor ports — no drilling, tapping, or fabrication needed
  • Fabricated from T304 stainless steel with full TIG welding for crack-resistant durability under high boost and heat cycling

FAQ

Q: Do I need to delete my factory grid heater to install this intake elbow?

A: No. The elbow is designed to work with both the factory grid heater and aftermarket grid heater delete plates, so you can keep reliable cold-weather starting or switch to a higher-flow configuration without replacing the elbow.

Q: What can I use the integrated NPT ports for?

A: The NPT ports allow clean installation of aftermarket sensors such as boost pressure gauges, temperature probes, or water-methanol injection nozzles, depending on your specific build.

Q: Will this intake elbow work alongside an EGR delete kit?

A: Absolutely — in fact, combining the two is the ideal setup. The elbow opens up the intake-side airflow while the EGR delete stops hot exhaust from being pumped back in. Together they deliver the maximum possible clean air charge to the cylinders.

Q: Is an EGR & Throttle Valve Delete Kit recommended with this intake horn?

A: Yes, absolutely. Upgrading to a 3.5" intake horn increases overall intake volume, but factory EGR and throttle valve components can still choke airflow. For optimal engine breathing and soot reduction, complete your installation with our 6.7L Cummins EGR Throttle Valve & Cooler Delete Kit.
