DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Extreme under-hood temperatures and high-boost operation quickly degrade factory plastic and stamped valve covers on 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins diesels. Warping and cracking lead to persistent oil leaks along the cylinder head, while choked factory breather setups trap crankcase pressure—pushing oil past main seals and contaminating your air filter.
  • This Billet Aluminum Valve Cover provides a permanent solution to OEM valve cover failure. Machined to tight tolerances for a leak-free seal, it offers superior resistance to heat distortion, optimizes crankcase ventilation to safeguard engine seals, and upgrades your engine bay with a clean, show-quality finish.

Key Features

  • Machined from solid aircraft-grade 6061-T6 billet aluminum for maximum strength that permanently outlasts OEM plastic and stamped covers
  • Reduce crankcase pressure and prevent seal blowouts with an integrated dual-baffle CCV oil separation system
  • Route waste oil vapor to a collection tank or catch can via integrated high-flow breather ports
  • Maintain a leak-free seal under extreme heat, boost, and vibration with a precision-machined gasket channel and all-stainless fasteners

FAQ

Q: Is this only for looks, or does it provide real engine protection?

A: It delivers both. The billet aluminum construction permanently eliminates warping, cracking, and oil leaks common with factory covers. The internal dual-baffle CCV system actively manages crankcase pressure and reduces oil vapor entering the intake, protecting seals and keeping the intake tract cleaner.

Q: Should I run a catch can with this billet valve cover?

A: Recommended for heavy towing and performance applications. While the internal baffles separate a significant amount of oil vapor, an external catch can provides additional oil mist capture to keep your intake and intercooler as clean as possible.

Q: Will this reduce oil carryover into my intake and intercooler?

A: Yes. The integrated baffle system separates oil vapor from crankcase gases before they exit the cover, substantially reducing the amount of oil mist that reaches the intake system through the CCV circuit.

Q: Is an external catch can required with this billet valve cover?

A: While it isn't strictly mandatory, it is strongly advised. Although the internal oil baffles effectively strip out crankcase oil mist, high-output or heavy-duty Cummins setups generate increased blow-by. Adding an external catch can offers an extra layer of filtration—stopping stray oil vapors, keeping your intake system pristine, and preventing oil residue from cluttering the engine bay.
