Unlock Full Tuning Access — No Cutting, No Permanent Mods

The 2018+ Ram Cummins trucks introduced Chrysler's Secure Gateway Module (SGW) — a firewall between your OBD-II port and the ECM that blocks aftermarket tuning tools. Without a bypass, EFILive, EZ Lynk, MM3, and other programmers simply can't communicate with your truck's computer.

The SEGULER SGW PassThru Harness Bypass is the cleanest solution: plug it into the SGW module behind your dash, connect your tuner to the OBD-II port, and you're in. No cutting wires. No permanent modifications. Just full, unrestricted access to flash tunes, change parameters, or run diagnostics — whenever you need it.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Plug-and-Play Design — Connects directly to the factory SGW module connectors behind the dash. No splicing, no soldering, no permanent modifications to your truck's wiring.
  • High-Temperature Resistant Construction — Built with industrial-grade heat-resistant cable and durable connectors that withstand the under-dash environment without degradation.
  • Reusable Across Sessions — Unlike some bypass modules that require permanent installation, this cable can be plugged in when you need to tune, then easily removed — keeping your truck factory-stock between tuning sessions.
  • OBD-II Port Remains Fully Functional — Your OBD-II port retains all normal functionality for diagnostics, emissions testing, and code reading while the bypass is connected.
  • Universal Tuning Platform Support — Works seamlessly with EFILive (CSP5 tunes), EZ Lynk (tire size changes, remote start configuration), MM3, and other CAN-bus tuning interfaces.
  • Fail-Safe for MM3 Users — If your MM3 security module fails or becomes unresponsive, this bypass provides a reliable alternative path to communicate with the ECM.

Vehicle Compatibility

Year Make Model Engine Notes
2018–2023 Ram 2500 / 3500 / 4500 / 5500 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel All cab configurations
2018–2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Equipped with SGW module

⚠️ Important: This bypass is designed for 2018+ Ram trucks equipped with the Secure Gateway Module (SGW). Pre-2018 Ram Cummins trucks do not have SGW and do not require this bypass.

How It Works

  1. Locate the SGW Module — Behind the driver-side lower dash panel, you'll find the green and white CAN-bus connector blocks plugged into the SGW module.
  2. Unplug & Connect — Disconnect the factory connectors from the SGW module and plug them into the corresponding ends of the SEGULER bypass harness.
  3. Plug In Your Tuner — Connect your EFILive, EZ Lynk, MM3, or other CAN-bus tuning device to the OBD-II port as usual.
  4. Tune & Remove — Flash your tunes, adjust parameters, or run diagnostics. When finished, simply disconnect the bypass and reconnect the factory plugs to the SGW module.

What Tuning Tasks Can You Perform?

  • EFILive CSP5 Tuning — Flash performance tunes with switch-on-the-fly capability via CSP5
  • EZ Lynk Configuration — Adjust tire size calibration, enable remote start, modify vehicle parameters
  • MM3 Tuning & Diagnostics — Full tuning access and diagnostic capability even if your MM3 security module has issues
  • General OBD-II Diagnostics — Read and clear DTCs, monitor live data, perform bi-directional controls
  • AlfaOBD & Similar Apps — Enable dealer-level configuration changes (enable features, change settings)

Why Choose SEGULER?

  • Tested on Real Trucks — We validate every bypass harness on actual 2018-2023 Ram Cummins trucks before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this bypass trigger a check engine light?

No. The SGW bypass harness does not alter any PCM programming or sensor signals. It simply creates a direct communication path between your OBD-II port and the vehicle's CAN-bus network. No codes will be set.

Q: Can I leave it permanently installed?

While the harness can be left connected, we recommend removing it between tuning sessions and reconnecting the factory plugs to the SGW module. This ensures your truck retains its factory security configuration when not actively being tuned.

Q: Does this work with the 2023 Ram Cummins with the updated Uconnect 5 system?

Yes. This bypass works on all 2018-2023 Ram HD trucks regardless of Uconnect version. The SGW module and CAN-bus architecture are the same across all trim levels.

Q: Will this work for a 2024+ Ram Cummins?

Ram made significant changes to the CAN-bus security architecture for 2024+ models. This bypass is designed and tested specifically for 2018-2023. For 2024+ trucks, a different bypass solution is required.

Q: Is this the same as the "green connector" bypass?

This harness connects to both the green and white CAN-bus connector blocks at the SGW module, providing full bi-directional communication on both CAN-C and CAN-IHS networks — needed for complete tuning and diagnostic access. Single-connector bypasses only give you partial access.

Q: Do I need to disconnect the batteries before installation?

We recommend disconnecting both negative battery terminals before installation as a safety precaution, though the SGW module connectors are low-voltage CAN-bus connections.

Q: Will this work with AutoEnginuity or Snap-On diagnostic tools?

Yes. Any professional diagnostic tool that communicates via standard OBD-II CAN protocols will work through this bypass, including AutoEnginuity, Snap-On, Autel, and similar platforms.
