DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • The 2011–2016 LML Duramax uses a complex EGR system that constantly recirculates abrasive exhaust soot back into your clean intake, mixing with oil to form a thick, engine-choking sludge. Over time, extreme thermal cycles cause the internal cooler passages to crack.
  • Once cracked, coolant leaks directly into your intake, leading to mystery coolant loss, white smoke, or even catastrophic engine hydrolock. This heavy-duty kit completely removes the failure-prone cooler assembly to safeguard your engine and restore its breathability.
Key Features
  • A CNC-machined, anodized aluminum intake plate pairs with a heavy-duty stainless steel exhaust plate for a corrosion-resistant, long-lasting seal.
  • With the factory EGR cycle blocked, abrasive soot can’t loop back in, so thick oily sludge never clogs the intake manifold or grid heater.
  • Ending hot exhaust gas recirculation drops EGTs, while the included custom coolant hose speeds flow to bring overall engine temperatures down.
  • Sealing off the EGR bypass leaks routes 100% of exhaust gas to the turbocharger, building boost faster for a sharper throttle.

FAQ

Q: Does this kit fully remove the EGR coolers, or does it only block them off?

A: It’s a complete cooler removal kit. It removes the entire bulky dual-cooler assembly from the engine bay, which frees up a large amount of space on the passenger side of the motor and makes future maintenance much easier.

Q: In what ways does deleting the EGR improve my truck’s performance?

A: The factory EGR valve continually bleeds off valuable exhaust pressure. Removing the system and sealing it with block-off plates routes exhaust gas straight to the turbocharger, eliminating turbo lag and making acceleration noticeably sharper.

Q: Why does this kit come with a “3-terminal (Y-shaped)” coolant hose?

A: The factory EGR coolers circulate engine coolant to cool the exhaust gases. Once they’re removed, the custom 3-terminal hose connects the factory heater core and engine coolant ports together for a leak-free bypass with zero cooling issues.

Q: Why is it recommended to swap the passenger-side up-pipe during an EGR delete?

A: To prevent exhaust leaks and clean up the engine bay. The factory up-pipe has a bulky EGR riser branch that becomes useless once the EGR is deleted, and swapping to a delete up-pipe removes that failure-prone branch to prevent future cracks and exhaust leaks.
