FITMENT

  • 1999-2007 (including 2007 Classic) Chevrolet and GMC models equipped with 4.8L LR4, 5.3L LM7/LM4/L59, or 6.0L LQ4/LQ9 LS V8 engines.

  • 2007+ new body style or 2008+ model, it does not have an EGR port and does not require this kit.

DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • On 1999–2007 GM LS truck engines (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L), factory EGR loops constantly vent hot exhaust soot from the passenger manifold back into the intake—causing carbon coking, intake manifold air leaks, and rough idling.
  • Built to fully seal the EGR circuit, this LS EGR Delete Plug Kit includes heavy-duty block-off plates for both the intake manifold and exhaust manifold ports. It permanently blocks dirty exhaust gas recirculation, prevents vacuum/exhaust leaks, and cleans up your LS engine bay.

Key Features

  • Billet aluminum, precision-cut to shrug off heat, corrosion, and years of use.
  • Shuts the open intake and exhaust EGR ports, keeping air leaks, exhaust leaks, and unwanted EGR recirculation from ever getting in.
  • Clears the passenger side by removing the bulky OEM EGR crossover tube and its hardware for a tidier bay.
  • One kit, two plates — an intake manifold block-off plate and an exhaust manifold flange plate that together seal the entire factory EGR circuit.

FAQ

Q: How is this kit different from a single intake block-off plate?

A: This complete dual-port kit seals both the intake and exhaust EGR ports, which lets you remove the factory EGR tube entirely. A single intake plate only seals the intake side.

Q: Where do these plates bolt on?

A: The intake plate goes on the top EGR port of the intake manifold, and the exhaust plate bolts to the passenger-side exhaust manifold flange where the factory EGR tube attaches.

Q: What symptoms does a failing LS truck EGR system cause?

A: A faulty EGR valve or a leaking EGR tube can lead to vacuum leaks, rough idle, hesitation, and inconsistent engine operation. This kit seals the unused EGR ports after removal.

Q: Does this kit take out the entire factory EGR system?

A: It seals the intake and exhaust EGR connections, which allows removal of the factory EGR tube. Depending on your vehicle setup, additional wiring or ECU adjustments may still be required.
