DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • On 2004.5–2005 LLY Duramax trucks, restrictive catalytic converters heat-soak the turbo exhaust turbine, while narrow cast intake bridges and integrated throttle valves choke incoming charge-air volume. Compounding the restriction, combined EGR soot and CCV oil vapor bake into a dense, flow-robbing sludge across intake runners.
  • Designed to resolve both hot-side and cold-side bottlenecks, this LLY 4" DP-Back Master Kit liberates overall engine breathing. It replaces choked exhaust plumbing with a mandrel-bent 4" layout while isolating soot and crankcase oil mist—slashing turbine backpressure, accelerating spool response, and keeping charge-air passages dry and clean.

Key Features

  • Replaces the restrictive OEM intake bridge and throttle valve with a high-flow 3" tube for an open, high-volume path into the manifold.
  • Delivers noticeably faster spool and a crisper throttle by freeing airflow on both the intake and exhaust sides.
  • Swaps the full factory exhaust from the downpipe back for smooth 4" pipe, maximizing velocity and cutting EGTs under heavy towing.
  • Removes EGR soot and reroutes CCV oil so the intake stays bone-dry and free of carbon buildup for the long haul.

FAQ

Q: How does this 4" downpipe-back kit differ from a standard race pipe?

A: A standard race pipe only replaces the middle emissions canister. This 4" DP-back system replaces the entire exhaust from the turbo downpipe exit past the rear tire, removing every factory pinch point for maximum velocity.

Q: Why does this LLY kit include an intake elbow?

A: The factory LLY intake bridge is narrow and contains a restrictive throttle valve. Swapping in a smooth 3" mandrel-bent elbow maximizes airflow into the manifold, speeding up boost and sharpening throttle response.

Q: Why are the EGR delete and CCV reroute bundled together?

A: On a stock LLY, oil mist mixes with EGR soot like glue and powder, choking the intake with sludge. Removing the EGR eliminates the soot while rerouting the CCV removes the oil, leaving the intake 100% dry and clean.

Q: Do I need custom ECM tuning after this is installed?

A: Yes, it’s mandatory. Removing the EGR and changing the airflow parameters will set CEL and diagnostic codes, so custom delete tuning is needed to clear them and recalibrate the air-fuel ratio.
