The throttle valve is a part that is often overlooked in the EGR removal system,The normal opening and closing of the throttle valve of the original EGR system can help the engine adjust the ratio of fresh intake to recirculated exhaust gas.
When it is fully or partially closed, the engine sucks in the required air through the EGR system. However, when the EGR system is removed and the throttle is closed, there is no other air intake source. Sometimes, the throttle may accidentally move to the fully or partially closed position, thereby cutting off the air supply to the Cummins and suffocating it.
At this point, if this situation occurs at a higher rotational speed, it may lead to power loss, complete engine shutdown, and even pose a threat to life.
To solve this problem, for most without EGR regulation, remove the butterfly valve in the middle of the throttle and increase the intake air flow to help more air enter the engine.
