FITMENT

  • 2016-2019 Chevy GMC Colorado/Canyon 2.8L Duramax LWN Diesel Engine.

DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Sticky carbon sludge and sensor fouling threaten the performance and long-term reliability of 2.8L Duramax LWN trucks. The factory EGR system dumps abrasive soot directly into the intake tract, clogging the MAP sensor, choking engine breathing, and creating dangerous thermal hot spots in the intake manifold.
  • Overhaul your LWN’s intake tract with this complete EGR Cooler & Valve Delete Package. By replacing the failure-prone emissions cooler with heavy-duty, custom-fit block-off plates, it prevents power-robbing manifold sludge, protects sensitive engine sensors, and delivers the clean, dense airflow your diesel needs under load.
Key Features
  • Machined from billet aluminum and laser-cut plate for a tight, durable seal that shrugs off heat and pressure.
  • Keeps the intake and MAP sensor spotless by shutting abrasive soot out at the source, so carbon clogs never take hold.
  • Restores low-end pull by replacing hot, dirty recirculated gas with clean air that spools the turbo quicker.
  • Cools the bay by dropping the bulky cooler assembly and letting air move more freely under the hood.

FAQ

Q: How do I tell whether my 2016 truck takes this kit or the earlier 2015.5–2016 version?

A: Look at the factory EGR tube where it meets the firewall. GM switched the connection style midway through 2016: a two-bolt flange calls for this 2016–2019 kit, while a round V-band clamp points to the 2015.5–2016 Kit.

Q: Will I need custom tuning once this is in?

A: Yes, tuning is non-negotiable. Pulling the physical EGR parts makes the computer throw codes and drop into a derated “limp mode” until you flash a delete tune that disables those monitors.

Q: Does this kit bring exhaust gas temperatures down?

A: It does. With hot exhaust no longer looping back into the intake, the cylinders run on cool, oxygen-rich air, which lowers combustion temps and cuts EGTs meaningfully — most of all when towing or hauling heavy.

Q: Where do the two aluminum plates go on the 2.8L?

A: One seals the intake side and one the exhaust side after the EGR is out: the oval plate (with black O-ring) fastens to the intake manifold inlet, and the irregular plate (four bolt holes) covers the exhaust manifold port.
