Q: Why is my 1999 Tahoe or Suburban not covered by these mirrors?
A: The 1999 Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon rode on the older GMT400 platform with a different door design. GMT800 SUVs didn’t arrive until 2000, so these mirrors fit 2000–2002 models only.
Q: What’s the story with the 2000 Tahoe Z71 and Yukon Denali being excluded?
A: The 2000 Tahoe Z71 (5.7L V8) and 2000 Yukon Denali used a one-off door harness and mirror mount that differs from the standard GMT800 SUV layout, so these mirrors aren’t compatible with those two trims. Every other 2000–2002 Tahoe/Yukon trim works.
Q: Are these truly plug-and-play on a 1999–2002 truck?
A: They are — as long as your truck left the factory with power mirrors, heated mirrors, and turn-signal mirrors. Many 1999–2002 trucks only had basic power mirrors, so defrost and the LED functions may require custom wiring if those options weren’t ordered.
Q: I drive a 2003 — will these still work?
A: No — the door mounting pattern shifted beginning in 2003. For 2003–2006 and the 2007 Classic, check out our GMT800 mirrors. Want this 1999–2002 platform without the LED signals? Grab our essential version.
