DESCRIPTION
Product Overview
-
The factory emissions system on 2008–2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke trucks is a major bottleneck. The heavy catalytic converter and DPF assembly trap extreme heat right behind the sequential twin turbos, while completely open 5" straight pipes often create severe cabin drone on long highway trips.
- The 5" Downpipe-Back Exhaust delivers the ultimate combination of high-volume airflow and refined sound. By replacing everything behind the turbo downpipe with 5-inch piping, it deletes emissions restrictions and drops EGTs sharply.
- Massive 5" High Airflow: Upgrades entire exhaust to a massive 5" diameter for maximum flow, supporting high-horsepower tunes and heavy towing.
- Stop Twin-Turbo Heat Soak: Eliminates backpressure and heat-trapping emissions components right behind the turbos to sharply drop EGTs.
- Kill Fuel-Wasting Regens: Permanently eliminates active regeneration cycles to improve fuel economy, restore engine efficiency, and extend motor life.
- Unleash Aggressive V8 Sound: Straight-pipe setup unlocks maximum exhaust velocity, a deep muscle-truck growl, and distinct twin-turbo whistle under load.
FAQ
Q: What is the main advantage of a 5" system with a muffler over a 5" straight-pipe?
A: Both systems lower EGTs and eliminate DPF restrictions equally well. However, this kit includes a high-flow performance muffler to tame harsh exhaust rasp and prevent annoying cabin drone during highway cruising or heavy towing.
Q: Does the 5" muffler restrict exhaust flow or increase backpressure?
A: No. It features a full 5-inch straight-through core design. Exhaust gases pass straight through without obstruction, tuning the sound pitch without slowing down velocity or building up heat.
Q: Do I need a delete tuner to run this 5" downpipe-back exhaust?
A: Yes. Because this system deletes factory emissions equipment (CAT/DPF), a compatible delete tuner is required to bypass emissions sensors, clear error codes, and prevent Limp Mode.
Q: Will a 5" exhaust pipe fit without rubbing against the spare tire or frame?
A: Yes, when properly adjusted. Because 5-inch piping is larger than factory tubing, we recommend leaving all clamps slightly loose during test-fitting so you can rotate the pipes for optimal clearance around the spare tire, axle, and frame before final tightening.
