It eliminates painful wrist jarring, prevents factory cable snapping, and keeps kids and pets safe when working around the back of your truck.

Q: Can it handle heavy-duty tailgates? 

A: Yes. It’s tuned to manage the weight of a standard 1500 gate or the bigger HD tailgates on 2500HD and 3500HD trucks.

Q: Is there any welding or drilling involved? 

A: No. It’s a bolt-on kit that includes the hardware you need — no welding or drilling.

Q: Will it get in the way of a tonneau cover or other bed accessories? 

A: Usually not. The shock lives inside the bed area and is meant to keep normal tailgate operation. Fit can vary with aftermarket accessories.

Q: Need one for a Classic Silverado/Sierra or the newer 1500? 

A: For the 1999-2007 Classic Silverado and Sierra (including the 2007 Classic body), we have a classic platform kit. The 2019-2024 Silverado/Sierra 1500 gets its own newer-generation kit.
